Q: I am currently feeding the Best Breed Senior Dog Diet to my older dog and love what it has done for him. But my question is, I am about to get a new German Shepherd puppy at the end of May. Is it ok to start him right on the German Dog Diet or would the Puppy Diet be better?
A: Absolutely, the German Dog Diet is fine for puppies. It has more than enough nutrition for puppy growth as it is an all-life stages diet. I have personally raised several Bernese Mountain Dogs on the German Dog Diet and they did great. Remember with any food a puppy eats....one does not want to encourage too rapid of growth. That is one reason our Puppy Diet is not real high in protein and fat which makes it similar, in general content, to an adult diet. I'm glad to hear that you are having great results with the Senior Dog Diet. Thank you for purchasing Best Breed Dog Food.
